We are all in an extraordinary situation that none of us have ever experienced. As of Saturday March 21st, at 5 PM, due to the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus, we began a state-wide stay at home order issued from our state governor. This has since been extended through April 30th, and many other states have followed suit.
Many businesses are now closed. Restaurants are doing take-out or delivery only.
I worked through the real estate crash of 2008. That was an extremely difficult time for all, especially those close to real estate.
Although Governor Pritzker issued a “Stay at Home” Executive Order for Illinois, his Order states that real estate services are considered Essential and “Nothing in this Executive Order shall prohibit any individual from performing or accessing Essential Governmental Functions”.
With that being said, real estate activities can still be conducted. This includes showing homes, listing homes, writing offers, closings, negotiating, home inspections, etc.
Most other companies like title, lenders, attorneys, and other companies related to real estate are all conducting business.
I don't want to say it's business as usual, because it's not usual. It's really weird actually.
But we're navigating through this difficult time, taking it day by day, and working to get you closer to achieving your real estate goals.
My main concern is the safety and well-being of my clients, employees and family. I'll will remain committed to helping all of our clients meet their real estate goals, and meet closing deadlines.
That being said we are open and conducting business, working with caution, and putting safety first. If you have any concerns or questions please reach out to me at anytime.
We hope everyone stays safe, healthy (and sane) during this difficult time.
